It's almost time for me to start working so I have to make this short. Do you watch American Idol? Yeah, I usually don't. I heard about this Adam Lambert guy but didn't listen to him until he came in second last night. That guy is quite a talent. Phenomenal. The guy that did win is good, too--just in a more expected, usual way. The Idol performance of Mad World was actually art, I thought. Beautifully done. I think I'm going to always do this--listen after the verdict is rendered. Much less stressful. Let me see if I can put a link in here: Mad World Adam Lambert. Wow. He is almost like a cross between Freddy Mercury and Steve Perry. What a voice.

On a different topic, it struck me today that tomorrow would have been my father's 90th birthday. That's sort of amazing, really. He was almost up in old coot territory when I came along, yes? I wish I had a photo of him scanned on this computer. He's been gone for over 20 years and I still think about him and miss him all the time. My father was a larger than life man, and a wonderful dad. We are going to an awards ceremony for some of the children tomorrow night, and I can't help but think how much he would have enjoyed going and beaming at them. For as wonderful a dad as he was...he was an even better grandfather. I wish my children had known him. And today, we met one of his great grandsons for the first time, Declan. Now that is one cute baby. Five months old. I'm not even a baby person and I thought he was most exceptional. My father, who was a baby person, would be in total agreement.
Ooh, look what I found--it's this apron I made for a trade show I was helping out a few years ago. Up top and also toward the middle with his arms around some young hottie? That's my Dad. (The hottie? My mom, of course!)

I am sorta reading a book about it (well not yet but I ordered it and it came). I think it is something I can really work on.
I dunno, looked interesting. We'll see. Right now I am in the middle of this book, which is the first in the Tess Monaghan series and new to me, although I think this book is more than 10 years old:
I have photos from prom (well, from before prom) but the children have made off with the photo card, I think. They do that a lot. Then the photos get leaked onto facebook and I don't get to debut them. Alas. On the other hand, if I didn't lollygag around about it for 10 days, perhaps my odds would improve.
