..the list of the other day:
1. Stop ordering crap over the internet -- I ordered some stuff, mostly for this project my husband and I are working on. A tiny order from this place may have slipped in. Just a tiny one, infinitesimally small.
2. Finish my category drawers for my Library of Memories class. --Scheduled for this afternoon.
3. Finish the layout that is sitting on my desk waiting for me. --Also for this afternoon.
4. Clean the bathroom upstairs, gross. --I made a halfhearted attempt but I need to go finish. 20 minutes, tops.
5. Clean my room (that sounds so "I'm 12" doesn't it?) --Nope, not done yet. Probably 15 minutes.
6. Get cracking on the laundry.
7. Put together a grocery list and go get 'er done.
8. Work out. (x3, I think)
9. Mail out some stuff I've been needing to send to people. --Will have to wait until tomorrow.
Now, I did do other stuff. I've worked two and a half days, rearranged part of the kitchen, done some other cleaning, and embarked on aforementioned big project, which really took most of my energy on Saturday and Sunday. It's going great so far. I need to go finish up the two cleaning activities that are upstairs (room and bathroom) and then come back down and move my base of operations back to the studio. I've moved to the living room for the past day or two but I miss the studio. It's quieter in there. Right now there is pop music to the right of me and heavy metal to the left, and laundry machines whirring overhead. I'm really not into cacophony.
Monday is one of my favorite days of the week. I get up early, work until 10:00 a.m. at the latest, and then I'm done with that until Tuesday evening. It always feels good to get stuff out of the way on Monday: Grocery shopping, errands, bill paying, whatever. I don't have any of those to do today, though, so we cleaned up. Working out would be a good thing to do but I think we are going to wait until tomorrow since we are having a bit of a cookout today.
I've had a relatively contemplative weekend. It was good, but contemplative. I think we have come to a compromise on the unfinished project upstairs (not to be confused with the Big Project mentioned earlier). My husband actually came up with it. The idea was to finish the unfinished attic and turn it into a master suite for us with a bedroom and a full bath. However, we've come to realize that we are more than content with our current bedroom and bathroom (well not the bathroom but it will only take several hundred dollars to bring that up to at least a decent level for now--it's at least a fairly good size). So I think now the plan is to insulate and drywall that space, which is huge (I think at least 30 feet long x 15 feet wide) and turn it into a room for the children. We just have to figure out how that will work. It will free up the other part of what was going to be our master suite with a laundry and huge (8 x 16) closet for us to use for that purpose. Well, we were already using the laundry part, but the closet, well. Right now it's a small bedroom for a college girl. Since she moved out to go to college, that made sense. Now she's back and what we have to figure out is if it makes more sense to let the younger children use it as a teen cave and share a room again, or for her to use it as her college cave. Dunno. We'll have to see. We already have electrical outlets/power and A/C ducting and vents run in there. In fact, we even have it all plumbed for a bathroom but that will be easy enough to let alone for now. So we will get our ginormous closet back, which we've yet to have a chance to use, and it will be nice to clean out the attic and finish that room. I'm pretty sure that the large uninsulated space is causing some bad power bill issues, so hopefully we'll reap back some benefit from finishing it up. Or not. We've gotten one quote that was way below what we thought it would be, so chances are it's going to happen in the next month if it happens anytime soon at all.
That's all I have from here.
Honor the fallen today.
