I’m back. It’s January still, right? I don’t think I even posted anything in December, and now January is almost gone. I hope everybody had a great holiday season last month. Here’s what ours looked like:
I think this was a few days before Christmas. We celebrated a day early to accommodate the work schedule of one of my daughters.
That same week, we also were immensely pleased and fortunate to be able to attend one of the NINE Garth Brooks benefit concerts:
Yeahhhh, we were pretty close. This one is from an encore, I think, and he sang “Please Come to Boston” right to us because a girl a few rows in front of us held up a sign the whole night and that’s what it said. I just thought she wanted him to come to Boston. That’s one of my favorite songs, so it was pretty cool. Seeing Garth Brooks live has been a Bucket List thing pretty much since I learned the term, and I certainly never expected it to happen so soon. Some people are just born performers, and he is most assuredly one. It was a fantastic show. He raised several million dollars for the Nashville flood survivors. Good guy.
This month, I have actually been really busy, working on organizing projects. We moved my studio from the sun room (goodbye, three walls of windows and glorious light) to one of the downstairs bedrooms where my home office has been since the summer. I absolutely love it in there now. It’s currently a big mess but it’s because I am actually taking the time to organize everything and go through my massive haul of stash, so I am going through one drawer/shelf at a time and that leads to piles here and piles there. It’s going to be great, though. I can tell. Starting next week I’ll be working on a layout a day for the whole month of February, so I have this weekend to finish up in there and clear the decks. Time to stop fondling my stuff and start using it again. I am also adding a gift wrap center in there, since gifts are one of the best parts of life and we like to foof them up and make them pretty around here. I found my all-time favorite ribbon on sale at about 80% off so I ordered a bunch of it. Hope everybody likes red-and-white stripes and kraft paper.
I promised one of my friends that I would update The Story, and I will. Hopefully over the weekend. It’s time to wrap it up. It’s so funny that the craziest stuff is yet to come, but it really is.
Time to get my part-time job done. I’ll be back soon!
